No, TesDash is an independent third-party application. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc. We utilize Tesla's official Fleet API to access vehicle data and commit to remaining compliant with all guidelines set out by Tesla for integration.
No, we are a completely independent product and are not associated with the open-source hobby project of the same name. We are aware of that repository, but it appears to have been inactive for over five years. Because the name "Tesdash" is a natural fit for a Tesla dashboard, we arrived at it independently.
TesDash uses Tesla's official Fleet API and Fleet Telemetry services. You authorize TesDash through Tesla's secure OAuth authentication, and we use cryptographically signed commands that comply with Tesla's security requirements. We never store your Tesla password.
TesDash uses Tesla's official Fleet API, which is designed for third-party developers. However, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with your specific warranty or lease agreement. We recommend reviewing your agreement or consulting with Tesla if you have concerns.
TesDash collects vehicle telemetry including battery level, range, GPS location, speed, odometer, tire pressure, climate settings, charging history, and power usage. We also collect your email and name for account management. All data collection requires your explicit consent.
Your primary data is stored on-premise in British Columbia, Canada. We may use cloud providers (Firebase/Google, AWS, Cloudflare) for authentication, analytics, and scalability. Data may be processed in the United States. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
Yes. Under BC PIPA, you have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated vehicle telemetry data. Contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@wal-sys.com to exercise this right. We will respond within 30 days.
TesDash offers four tiers: Free (15-min location updates, 1-hour battery updates, 30 days retention), Lite (1-min updates, 6 months retention), Enhanced (real-time location, power telemetry, 1 year retention), and Ultimate (high resolution data, real-time signals, remote commands, perpetual storage).
Yes! TesDash supports multi-vehicle fleet management. You can seamlessly switch between multiple Teslas and monitor them all from a single dashboard.
TesDash supports all Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. For Model S and Model X, only 2021+ (Refresh) models are supported. Older vehicles like the Roadster and pre-2021 Model S/X are not supported. Your vehicle must be running software version 2024.26 or newer and have cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity to stream telemetry and receive commands.
No, Premium Connectivity is not required. TesDash works with Standard Connectivity as long as your vehicle has cellular reception or is connected to Wi-Fi.
Yes, with the Ultimate tier. You can remotely lock/unlock, honk, flash lights, control climate (HVAC, seat heaters, Dog Mode), adjust charging settings, and manage media playback. All commands are cryptographically signed for security.
TesDash provides advanced features not available in the Tesla app: customizable dashboard widgets, real-time telemetry graphs, historical data analysis with adjustable time windows, detailed signal viewer showing all raw vehicle data, and location history tracking with route visualization.
Update frequency depends on your tier. Free tier: 15-min location, 1-hour battery. Lite: 1-min updates. Enhanced and Ultimate: real-time updates (typically sub-second for active signals when vehicle is awake).
TesDash uses Tesla's Fleet Telemetry which is designed to minimize battery impact. The vehicle streams data when it's already awake (driving, charging, climate active). We do not continuously wake sleeping vehicles.
Yes. TesDash uses Tesla's OAuth2 authentication - we never see or store your Tesla password. We store only the secure access token provided by Tesla. All communication is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS), and vehicle commands are HMAC-signed.
No. Our Terms of Service strictly prohibit interacting with the TesDash dashboard while operating a vehicle. TesDash is for informational purposes only and should only be used when safely parked. If you need to gather realtime data while driving, please have your passenger use their phone or the Tesla in-car browser to view the steaming data.
TesDash supports modern browsers: Chrome 90+, Firefox 88+, Safari 14+, and Edge 90+. We recommend using the latest version for the best experience.
Currently, TesDash is a web application optimized for both desktop and mobile browsers. A Progressive Web App (PWA) version allows you to install TesDash on your mobile device for an app-like experience.
Visit our Early Access page and submit your email. We review applications regularly and send invites based on availability. Beta testers get early access to new features and priority support.
Tesla may change, suspend, or terminate API access at any time. If this occurs, TesDash functionality may be limited or unavailable. We do not guarantee continuous service if Tesla alters their third-party access policies.
